Riverton is home for Larry and Beth Acton who run a commercial herd of Braford cattle. At 2,500 acres Riverton lies in a very fertile valley between two ranges of basalt hills, next to the Fitzroy river in Central Queensland – only an hours drive from Rockhampton.

Larry and Beth began the Riverton Braford Stud by buying registered females from well known studs, and having their better cows with known genetics classified by the Australian Braford Society. Today, the stud has grown to include 50 registered females, 20 of which are homebred, and about 80 classified females, almost all of which are homebred.

Visitors are always welcome at Riverton, whether you’re wanting to look at the Stud or simply after a break away. Those who have made it to Riverton are impressed by the views from around the homestead, and a lovely spot on the river. Jack, the family dog, is always entertaining and there is fully self sufficient accommodation if that appeals.

Wonderful results at the 2015 National Braford Sale
This year we averaged $7,200 for six bulls, with Riverton Nero selling to Burnett Enterprises at Clermont for $16,000. We are very thankful to all our buyers and underbidders, and the rest of the Braford buyers who inspected and gave frank comment on our sale team.

Proud Patron since 2005.
